The Graduate School of Literature and Social Sciences offers 9 master’s specializations and 10 doctoral specializations over a broad spectrum of academic fields. The creative and practical curricula cover both theoretical speculation and empirical research, advanced experimentation and practical training, and aim to cultivate individuals with both rich knowledge and a strong sensibility who can contribute to our increasingly international and information-oriented society. For instance, our master’s program in psychology meets society’s need to integrate real-world experience with highly specialized academic knowledge by providing test-based admissions to applicants with at least 5 years of work experience after graduation, but we also train traditional researchers as well as junior and senior high school educators. We constantly strive to increase our cooperation with society at large to meet today’s needs in a concrete and practical way, for example by getting our psychology specialization recognized as an official school for Clinical Psychologist (1st grade) certification.
