The goal of the College of Science and Technology is to educate people who can utilize and create advanced technology in order to develop a safer society in harmony with the environment. To this end, we place the emphasis in our education on research in the very newest fields. We firmly believe that by feeding back the experience and expertise we have accumulated through research, as well as new discoveries and inventions, into the education itself, the students will learn to develop cutting-edge technology in response to the needs of society, which in turn will contribute to the progress of science and technology itself.
In line with this philosophy, we have put great effort into expanding our research facilities. At our world-class research centers like the Research Center for Environment-Preservation and Disaster-Resistant City, the Advanced Materials Science Center, and the Education and Research Institute of Information Technology, we provide state-of-the-art education programs in step with the times. We also encourage exchanges of people and conduct joint research with many other Asian universities, with a view to cultivate experts for a richer Asian future. By combining over 80 years of traditions with the latest technology, the College of Science and Technology keeps making progress.
