School of Medicine
Department
- Medicine
At the Nihon University School of Medicine, our goal is to produce good clinicians, outstanding medical researchers, and great teachers of medicine for the next generation, as well as to contribute to the medicine, health and education of the 21st century.
Our comprehensive curriculum integrates all the various special fields in an organic way, and we preferentially use small group seminars for more efficient learning.
During the practical clinical training at our affiliated hospitals, we encourage our students to proceed to Clinical Clerkships, and, since more than just a vast amount of knowledge is necessary to become a good doctor, we also put great effort in the “attitude education” of our students, in order to enable them to build up good relationships with their patients.
The 6th year includes a 7-week elective course, where the students can freely choose a field of study according to their own interests. Many of our students elect to spend this period in training at foreign hospitals and research facilities.
